Arai Defiant Helmet - Solid Colors Designed specifically for the aesthetics and needs of street fighter and naked bike rider in mind, the new Arai Defiant is equally aggressive and feature rich, as one would expect from a new Arai helmet. Based on the fit and comfort of the Quantum, the Arai Defiant was built for the upright riding position with its aggressive, integrated chin spoiler, which was designed specifically to guide wind around the neck and to improve the aerodynamic properties of the helmet. The Hyper Ridge Bumper circles the bottom of the shell both adding additional strength and also lowering the helmet's center of gravity, while flaring the helmet opening slightly to increase the ease of putting on, and taking off. The Arai Defiant utilizes Arai's latest faceshield design, the SAI Max Vision Pinlock Shield with Brow Vents and includes Pinlock insert lens. The SAI Max Vision shield has been widened by 5mm left and right and offers one of the widest eyeports available for excellent peripheral vision. Features Aggressive new styling Internals are redesigned with a focus on safety and comfort Organic shell shape for superb energy management New IC-4 Upper Intake vents seal more completely when closed New ACR-4 flow thru exhaust vent allows greater air flow when open and reduces drag when closed FCS R (Facial Contour Support) cheek pad design has 5mm peel away micro fit layer for greater personal fit Cheek pads feature contoured shape, multiple density foam layer supported by a patented spring New shell shape is easier to put on and take off New water repellent material along bottom edge Pull down spoiler works with new flared bottom to increase helmet stability SAI Max Vision Brow Vent Pinlock anti-fog lens insert included DOT and Snell 2010 certified

I had really high hopes for this helmet when I bought it but ultimately was disappointed with my purchase.
The helmet fit a little loose when I first tried it on but I figured that I would ride with it anyway and just order the next size up cheek pads the next day. Unfortunately, the cheek pads for this helmet won't be availble for a few months. I had tried on an RXQ at a local shop and it fit nice and snug in a medium. The Defiant definately has a looser fit in the cheek area and allowed the helmet to move around too much on my head. No fault to Revzilla, but I believe a helmet should'nt be released until all of the accessories are realesed for it too.
Wind - well this is probably due to the cheek pads being too small. This is one of the noisiest helmets I have ever owned. Opening and closing the vents don't seem to make much difference. In fact, with all of the vents closed and the chin curtain extended, a fair mount of wind still blows into my face. Temps are usually in the 40's here in the morning even in the summer, making this helmet fairly cold to ride with.
The pinlock shield is a great addition and works perfecty in the rain. Other than that, I can't find one thing that the Defiant does better than my old Suomy Apex that can be purchased new for at leat $250 less. In addition, the Apex is signifigantly lighter than the Defiant and the overall shell size is more compact. Just for reference, I wear a size large in Suomy.
Revzilla has a great return policy, but make real sure the helmet fits before you ride with it or you won't be able to exchange it and the cheek pads to make it fit may not be availalbe until after this riding season is over.
Anyone want to by a barely used Arai Defiant in white?
No, I do not recommend this product.

Fit and finish is top notch. I'm not in the military anymore, but this piece of gear is suitable for any rider looking for a low profile backpack with high-viz colors. I removed the two Velcro ID badge holders and attached a couple of patches I had with Velcro already on them.
The size is just right for me. Room for an extra layer, rain jacket, 13" laptop and my lunch. The small size means less material to flap in the wind when it is empty. Icon has larger offerings if you need more space (Icon Patrol).
Pockets and zippers are easy to use and operate without the snagging that I have on some packs when you try to close the zipper.
Highly recommended.

These run a little small. I normaly wear a size large and decided not to follow Anthony's advice to go up a size because warm gloves tend to be bulky. They are snug but I like the extra amount of control that the tight fit gives me and figure they may break in a little after more use.
I commute over Vail Pass everyday so temps are typically less than 50 degrees at 7:30 in the morning. They keep my hands nice and warm and are bearable riding home in the afternoon when it is in the 70's. Any warmer than that and I switch to my mesh gloves. Havent had a chance to test in the rain yet.
They feel like they would help in a crash and the hi-viz gives piece of mind without being overbearing. Overall a good quality glove for the money.

I'm 5'10" with a fairly athletic build. 30" waist and 42" chest. I bought a large based on the sizing chart knowing that I was in between a medium and a large. The large was too big - Revzilla handled the RMA instantly and I had my medium less than a week later. Awesome customer service.
On to the jacket - it has a heavy cotton feel to the outside, kind of like a Carhartt work jacket. Shoulder, elbow and back armor is included and rest comfortably in the proper areas. The jacket is also waterproof, but I haven't hit any downpours with it yet. When you add up all of the features on the jacket and the less than $100 price tag you get tremendous value for your money.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I got this for my Triumph McQueen 2 jacket and it fits the back insert pocket just right. It feels like it has enough flex and it is hardly noticble while wearing.
