First of all I should mention that I ride a scooter (125cc) on surface roads and never exceed 55 mph. This is my daily commuter. I purchased this helmet to replace a Icon full face helmet that was leaking air through the face shield. One of my requirements for a new helmet was a drop down sun shade (I also tried the HJC IS-16 and Exo-500). This helmet was more comfortable than the other two and felt lighter as well. The field of vision is incredible and I definitely think of this as a safety plus. I love the micro lock chin strap, I can quickly take on/off my helmet, even while wearing gloves. I bought the pinlock insert based on other reviews and installed it before my first ride. No fogging issues whatsoever, I'm definitely sold on the pinlock for future helmets as well.
The only negatives I can think of are two: It is noisier than my prior helmet, although nothing unbearable for my use. Secondly it is a bit round looking from ear to ear, I kind of feel like a Space Ball when looking in the mirror.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Nolan N43E Trilogy Solid Helmet New design for 2012! New Features New Chinbar is extended for extra room and now can accept included chin curtain New Face shield now has intermediate open position, previous version was either opened or closed New locking pivot kit 6-in-1 design The New Nolan N43E Trilogy Helmet is a crossover design with quick-change accessories that allows for customized looks and functions for every ride. The helmet comes with the clear shield, the integrated sun shield, the peak and the removable chinbar. VPS (Vision Protection System) features a short dark shield mounted on the inside of the helmet which moves independently from the face shield. It provides real eye protection and is also available in amber, light blue and light smoke as an accessory. The VPS is easily operated by a large rubber coated slider on the left side of the helmet. Features Quick-change shield is optically correct, UV-400 and fitted in an exceptionally large eyeport Includes a Pinlock antifog insert The short black peak can be installed in seconds instead of the clear shield Ready for the N-Com communication system Lightweight aerodynamic polycarbonate shell with built-in spoiler for improved stability Fully removable and washable Clima-Comfort liner is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and wicking Super-efficient JSW top vent with exhaust grid in the rear spoiler works in conjunction with the air channels along the crown Microlock (adjustable quick-release) retention system Velour chin-strap padding 3.6lbs with all accessories Both D.O.T. and ECE certified Note Trilogy Solid, Trilogy Outlaw and Trilogy Voyage Helmets are identical except for the paint or graphics.

I understand there is no D ringon the N43E Trilogy? How can it be locked to the motorcycle? Thanks.

Actually you can lock the helmet. There are several different places (including Nolan) that sell what looks like a t-bar that slides through the microlock female ratchet and can then be attached to your bike. Here is one such example: http://www.airrider.com/product_p/07-22.htm
