I got the Cardo Scala Rider G4 about 2 months ago (Oct. 2011) and cannot believe how much I enjoy riding with it. The first call I received on it came in while I was going about 65 MPH and chatted for about 4 minutes before I told my friend how I was communicating - he did not notice any degradation in the sound quality on his end. Sending / receiving calls is easy and (I have an iPhone 4s) it even reads me incoming texts while I'm riding. Best of all, I can listen to the music on my phone, go forward-backward on the playlist, mute it, turn the volume up or down - easily, with one hand. I have not tried to listen to the FM Radio that comes with it, so cannot comment on that aspect. It may have taken me 20 minutes to install on my Shoei RF1100 and I am not mechanically inclined. Setting up the Bluetooth connection is also very easy. When fully charged, it seems to last forever - the instructions say 13 hours (I think) but I've never run out of power. I just bought another unit to put on my wife's helmet. Highly recommend.

I usually wear a size large glove, but after reading the other reviews here on Revzilla I ordered the Klim Adventure Glove in XL. They were initially a little snug but have loosened up quickly and are now my favorite pair of gloves, so get them a size larger than you normally would. Very well made, great padding and they look awesome. I live and ride in Southern California and we've had some relatively cold mornings recently (in the lower 40's) and these are fine. Highly recommend.

Waterproof?
Is this unit waterproof at all, or does it have to come off when it rains?
I have not ridden with mine in the rain yet (living in Southern California, we haven't had any) however the instruction booklet says you can ride in the rain with it on.

Install on a Shoei RF-1100?
I have this unit and it doesn't seem to allow for clamp install on a Shoei RF-1100. Can it be done on this helmet?
Yes, it can be installed on a Shoei RF-1100. That is the exact helmet I have and it worked quite easily for me.
