Here's my tuppence!!....
Size: The helmet shell looks a little smaller than I expected. I was expecting to look like a lollipop! It fits true to size and is very snug. (Makes u feel a bit invulnerable!) Guess I have to wear the helmet for the required 25 hrs as stipulated by shoei before declaring it broken in. There is no place to fit a comm device as there is virtually so space between the chin bar and the mouth.
Overall appearance: Visually very appealing and I will have to rate it as very good and on par if not better than the Arai rx-q graphic which I have as well. Excellent detailing and finish.
Weight: the helmet may not be the lightest but it is extremely well balanced. Once you've put it on you can't feel the weight at all. Head checks at speed and long distance riding become a cinch.
Comfort: The liner is plusher than the arai rx-q (really coarse) and feels comfy against the skin. Doesn't feel grimy even after a long run in the heat and dust. I can't comment on Shoeis of old as this is my first:).
Ventilation: This thing flows a ton of air. I can feel it through the coolmax balaclava I wear. No complaints there. But it is loud and i mean loud loud, with the vents fully open. So you don't really need your favourite music cause your helmet will be whistling a happy tune from 30mph all the way to the top!! The RX-Q is way quieter in that respect and even the slight wind noise can be eliminated by changing your riding angle a few degrees. It is difficult to operate the vents on the go with a gloved hand. So you have to set the up the top vent configuration before setting off.
All in all it is a very good helmet and is right up there with the likes of arai rx-q if not equal plus they got some really contemporary graphics which you can avail off!
Right I will now wander off and sleep with my helmet on:P!!
Icon Field Armor Stryker Vest The Field Armor Stryker vest is at the very heart of the Icon creed. A silhouette that broke with the conventional race derivative dogma and struck out on its own street specific course. Low profile back armor with high profile design. Back protection for tactical riding. The original Field Armor vest set a benchmark in the back protector world - the Stryker ups the ante. The back protector is loaded with d3o intelligent foam and full CE approval, the Field Armor Stryker Vest back armor is designed to take hits you hope will never come. Rock it under your jacket or over a hoody - just wear it. If today is the day that you go down, you want Stryker on your back. Features CE APPROVED STRYKER BACK ARMOR D3O BREATHABLE BACK INSERT, WITH CUSTOM MOLDED ICON GEOMETRY ARTICULATING INJECTION MOLDED HARD BACK ARMOR WITH AIR FLOW CHANNELS INJECTION MOLDED CHEST PLATE WITH INTEGRATED AIR INTAKES VENTED BIOFOAM AND AIRMESH CHASSIS HYDRADRYTM MOISTURE WICKING LINER HIGHLY ADJUSTABLE WAIST AND SHOULDER STRAPS LOW-PROFILE DESIGN FITS UNDER MOST JACKETS
The protector out of the box looks sleek. Fit and finish are top notch. The style factor is a big step up from the previous version. Comfort wise I find the protector a little restricting. Over long rides (in excess of an hour at a stretch) I find the protector cutting into the arm pit which is a bit annoying, although the shoulder fitment has been adjusted to be comfortable and provide adequate clearance. Ventilation- in 75F texas heat it seems to flow an average amount of air. The wicking liner plays a big part in keeping you fresh. Don't know how it will hold up when its time to wash the liner. Overall a lot scope for adjustment to get a perfect fit. The only gripe I have is that instead of velcro around the torso there should have been a quick release buckle with length adjustment by way of a buckle for longevity as against a velcro as I fear that will be one of the first to give way from constant use. Overall a nice sturdy product which is inconspicuous and can be worn everywhere and under or over any garment!
Dainese Redgate Gloves Composite inserts in carbon fiber with ribbing on the knuckles and reinforced edge Cowhide leather Stone PU Reinforced palm Tightening strap Adjustable cuff strap Elasticated inserts Pre-curved fingers Perforated back Perforation on the inner side of finger Soft inserts Microplastic elasticated inserts (PCT Patent pending)
Got the sizing wrong on the first try but revz exchanged it promptly! The gloves fit slightly on the small side and the pinky gets squeezed when you hold the grips. I guess once I break in the glove properly it will feel better. The glove is not bulky and you can undo your chin strap or do stuff with your gloves on. Protection wise it gives you just about what every entry level glove will give you. Nothing fancy. The kuckle guard presses down on the knuckles when the levers are depressed. Hope that sorts itself out once the gloves break in. Stitching is very good and the little detailing look crisp and give it an understated classy look. Ventilation is really good as proved by my frozen digits while riding in 42 deg texas weather :P. Overall not a bad pair of gloves for a hundred bucks.

Does the rf1100 have the emergency cheek pad system like the x12?
Nope the RF1100 does not have the emergency release system. The rx-q has it though. But in any case that should not be the deal breaker in choosing the rf1100 as most medics don't even know that it exists
