This Shoei is there top of line helmet and it has a price point to show it. I have never owned a Shoei before or a helmet this expensive. I have to admit that I am very happy with it, coming from the scorpion line helmets, shoei is way better. It has a sweet killer look. I love the race fit feel of the helmet once its one your head. It is a little hard to get it on, but thats a good thing, cause that means its going to be hard to come off your head if you get a wreck. One thing I do notice is that it is very noisy, some of my scorpion helmets where a lot more quiet and cost only$200-$300. When it comes to ventilation its ok, the reason a say its ok is because I just recently bought a Bell Star and wow that thing vents. Don't get me wrong the it does a good job, but after owning a bell star I can't give the x-12 5 stars when it comes to air flow. The final thing this that the shoei kicks butt at high speed and doing shoulder checks! If you can afford it you won't be dissappointed.

 Bell Star Cerwinske Carbon Helmet
Bell Star Cerwinske Carbon Helmet
Bell Star Cerwinske Carbon Helmet Bell wowed the helmet and art worlds in 2009 by joining forces with street artist Jona Cerwinskie to create a production graphic that was anything but standard. Cerwinskie, best known for taking a Sharpie marker to a 200,000 Lamborghini Gallardo, used the same freehand technique to design his signature graphic for the Bell Star Artist Series. The intricate, high-contrast, black-on-white design became an instant hit and now Bell has followed it up with a new carbon fiber edition-- the Bell Star Cerwinske Carbon. Reversing-out the graphic, Cerwinskies graphic is now white on top of raw black carbon for a look that is both high-tech and street-savvy. The upgrades compliment an already stunning helmet-the Star features Bells exclusive Velocity Flow Ventilation with FlowAdjust for amazing ventilation and temperature control. The helmets shape is truncated to create a super stable aerodynamic signature that eliminates lift and buffeting even at high speed. New on all 2010 Stars is another Bell exclusive-the MagnaFusion magnetic strap keeper. Completing the package is the easy-to-use and change 3Mode Shield with ClickRelease as well as certification to the new Snell M-2010 standard. Features Velocity Flow Ventilation system with FlowAdjust for maximum ventilation and temperature control Super stable aerodynamic signature resists buffeting and lift Super lightweight all-carbon fiber shell Contour Cut Cheekpads for superior fit and comfort 3Mode Shield for instant on-bike shield adjustments, and ClickRelease for the fastest, easiest, tool-free shield swaps ever NutraFog II superior anti-fog, anti-scratch and UV protected shield Removable and washable, antibacterial/antimicrobial interior comfort liner Includes self-adhering TrackStrip for additional high-speed stabilization at track speeds Exclusive Magnafusion magnetic strap keeper (Patent Pending) - NEW FOR 2010! Padded chin strap with D-ring closure Five-year warranty Comes with clear faceshield Certification Snell M2010, DOT

I love this helmet, it is super comfortable the inside padding feels super nice. I have a Shoei X-12 and the inner padding does not compare to the bell. Bell is a lot better. When it comes to ventilation the bell just rocks, in my mind its way better than my x-12. Also the bell comes with a super cool carry case like no other. Oh yeah and the bell cost easy $100 less than my x-12, can't get any better than that.
