I bought these as my primary riding boots for a couple reasons, first being I wanted a boot that looked like a skate shoe, with long pants on they definitely do the trick. Second being the function, I liked the fact that there is a shank in the sole for added support a well as all around support in the shoe itself. The ratchet attached to the boot is relatively pointless other than added protection, if you were to slide on the side of the boot the plastic would grind down instead of your ankle ( so they do hold a good purpose in that sense. ) but as far as ratcheting the boot down for tightness, they don't do much. If you tighten it down too much it pressures your ankle and is uncomfortable. When I first got the boots I thought they looked alright but after wearing them for a few days I actually got several compliments asking what kind of shoes they were. All in all these boots were a great buy I would recommend to anyone. I looked everywhere online and Revzilla definitely had the best price when you include free shipping.
Bottom line is your not gonna find a better looking functional riding boot for the price.
Yes, I recommend this product.
