I sought these boots out to fill a few key needs and feel that I've found the right pair.
1. I needed to find a boot that was functionally safe to ride in and use for 8-12 hour work day. Got that. A solid balance between the rigidity needed to feel safe from ankle/toe injuries and the ability to allow all day (literally) wear at work with little discomfort.
2. Water proof/resistant. Got that. The Gore in these guys kept my feet completely dry during a six hour rain run along the BRP and back to home in Newport News.
3. Warmth for my 35 mile commute in winter while not overheating too much in the summer. Upper temps easily range to 85-95 in summer and bottom at 25-35 in winter. Got that. Caveat though: Only ridden in upper 20s for less than 45 minutes and in over 90 for less than 2 hours but neither was uncomfortable. I don't use these for the dicier off-road and muddy stuff since they have no real traction for that and I need to preserve their look for the office. I go back to the old flight deck boots for that riding. I'll continue enjoying these boots for my commutes and weekend rides because I just don't have to think about them while riding and I don't worry about foot comfort if I want to stop and poke around somewhere. Summary for me. The TCX Jupiter checked all my boxes! Get these guys if you need a nice looking, jeans wearing, commuter that fits like it's supposed to.

I put this tire on as replacement for the OEM(front) on my 2012 KLR. I've logged 11,100 miles on them and now there is a slight cupping problem although I could stretch another 200 if I needed to. I really liked this tire. It held up extremely well and stayed consistent and predictable in the rain. A bit wobbly in sand but you know that's going to be the case given the tread pattern. This tire's so good you'll forget it's there. I gave the "Good" rating for tread life since it's pretty common for front tires to surpass 10K miles.

Heidenau K76 Rear Tire The Heidenau K76 is an Adventure / Dual Sport tire for both on- and light off-road use. The wide tread block arrangement and balanced rubber compound provides excellent traction and foul-weather grip for the road, while allowing you to peel off tarmac and attack the fire road.

Rear tire used on 2010 KLR. Went through two original Dunlops and a Kenda 761 before finding this Heidenau. I ride mostly highway and put on 12K per year with some weekend rides on farm, fire and power line roads. I have over 6K miles on this one and may get another 500-600 more. It has worn predictably well and evenly during all conditions. I never felt uncomfortable on it through many heavy rain runs and temperatures ranging from the low 20s in winter up to 110F in summer. No cupping, chafing or burring to be seen. Pricey, but after my experience with the K761, I'm OK with that. I'll buy another one and pick up the Heidenau K60 too. Get this tire. You won't regret it.
