This is only my second road helmet. My other is an RF-1100 medium. I wanted a Hi Viz helmet and this was recommended to my by Kat in the store. I only have a few rides on it but like it a lot. I got the medium. It is a snug fit and fits close around the bottom, but I wouldn't call it tight. I think the comfort is on par with the Shoei, but a slightly different fit. Airflow is better than the RF. There is wider vision than the Shoei. Noise level low, probably about same. The Icon feels more aerodynamic, especially with a head turn. The shield lock down is a little different on the Icon, consisting of the shield engaging a pin which is a little stiff to release, at least now when new, but seems to be efficient and work well. The graphics are OK, they don't excite me that much, but the helmet is bright, which is what I wanted. Overall I'm very impressed. At $260, I feel I got a good deal.

Shoei CW-1 Faceshield The new Shoei CW-1 Visor / face shield fits Shoei Qwest, RF-1100 and X-12 Helmets Q.R.S.A. (Quick-Release Self-Adjusting) base plate allows for tool-less shield removal and installation. The spring-loaded base plate (U.S. patent pending 11/799935) pulls the shield back into contact with the window beading evenly and ensures a proper seal The CW-1, three-dimensionally curved shield is both wider and taller than the CX-1V it replaces Optional, CWF-1 two-dimensional racing shields with tear-off posts are available Scratch-resistant coating 99.9 protection from harmful UV A and B rays Optional, CW-1 Pinlock prepared shields are available to accommodate Pinlock Fog Free Inserts A pre-set lever can easily lock the shield in place to prevent the shield from opening unexpectedly, as well as prop the shield open to increase airflow Note Mellow Smoke refers to a tint that is lighter than the Light Smoke shield. Note Due to manufacturer restrictions, Shoei products can only be shipped to addresses within the United States

Works fine. Close to $50 is a lot I think after you've bought the $400 helmet already.
From reading the reviews it was unclear to me whether I should go with light smoke or dark smoke. Revzilla customer service advised DARK smoke and they were right.
I would say that the dark smoke visor is about equal to a medium pair of sunglasses. I was worried about cloudy days and transition from sunny to shady areas and the dark visor is fine for both of those conditions. I haven't tried at night and don't plan to.
Looking directly into the sun is still bright but this visor cuts down considerably on "ambient" bright light and especially glare.
I'm very glad I didn't get the light smoke.

I bought these from the retail store. Bobby helped me with my purchase and I'm very happy. I tired-on about all of the waterproof touring boots on the shelf. It's amazing the difference in size between manufacturers. I consistently wear a 9.5 US shoe medium width and the 43 boot fit me well with room for thicker socks. All of the other boots were stiff and some had uncomfy spots or pinch-points. I was told it is easy to assume because they are not stiff that they don't protect as well. I was assured they offer as much protection as the stiff boots. I haven't tested waterproof, protection, or durability.

Well - I haven't tried this out in the rain yet. (yes, I know I'm reviewing a rain jacket) but I also bought this to go over my mesh jacket to extend the range into the 40s. The fit, features (minimal), and price are what I need. Having said that, this jacket is very thin and light. That has its benefits, but I might buy the Nitric if I had to do it again.
I bought Hi-Viz and it is BRIGHT. I like that. The Nitric has a much smaller area of Hi-Viz

These were recommended to me by Bobby when I visited the store. Decided to go with non-H2O gloves and wear overgloves when it rains. Bobby explained all of the features which make a whole lotta sense to me. I tried medium in the store ( I wear medium in most gloves) and they felt a tad small. Ordered large and they feel a tad big - but I like a little airspace in the glove. It may be my imagination but makes them feel cooler in the heat and warmer in the cold.
Gloves are very comfy.
Revzilla is doing everything right for its customers as an online retailer. If you can visit the store, that is also worthwhile. I'm very happy with the recommendations that Bobby and Cat (spelling?) made for me.
