I went for years with the original (1997) Gerbing Jacket Liner and gloves with only an on/off switch. The newest microwire gear just puts out way too much heat when on full, so having a heat controller is a must have.
Firstgear's wireless Remote Dual Heat Troller is easy to install, plug and play, and the remote sits nicely on top of the hydraulic clutch reservoir. The units came pre-paired so installation was done in under 10 minutes on a 2010 Goldwing.

I am a Revzilla customer, however, I didn't buy this jacket from Revzilla, only because I didn't need to.
I bought brand new Harley in 1995, and in 1997 I bought a Gerbings Jacket Liner and Gerbings Waterproof electric gloves.
Countless miles later and while riding my current ride, a 2010 GW, I noticed last fall the SAE plug was getting hot and the gloves had developed unpleasant hotspots in the finger tips.
2 weeks ago, I called up Gerbings Support, all my contract information was still on file. They told me to sent the liner and gloves in and they would take of me, no cost.
Great, however, I also asked if they could change the old SAE plugs for the new coax plug on everything. Again, no problem, however, there would be a small charge for each Coax plug. I said no problem, I am happy to pay for the change, and I got a RA# and sent everything back to Stoneville NC.
Today I found out I had a package from Gerbings to pick up. That was fast I thought. Check the invoice, no charge for anything. Interesting... Opened the box and found a brand new microwire jacket liner and a new pair of G3 Gloves.
Gotta love great companies who stand by their products, 16 years after the sale!
BTW I did buy my wireless controller from Revzilla, and I would have bought a Gerbing's wireless controller if they made one.

I bought the AST 2 for the cooler winter temperatures and to complement my much beloved Olympia Airglide 3 Mesh Jacket.
I had a AST 1 a couple of years ago, and I liked it. However, when my son started riding and picked up a new KLR 650, the original AST wondered off and never returned. When I seen this blue AST 2s on sale, I felt it was just too good of a deal to pass up. The AST 2 is nicely improved over the AST 1, Fits well, as do all the Olympia jackets.
My son managed to break a zipper on the internal liner, some years after the original purchase, and he contracted Olympia and was sent a new liner. Great service from Olympia.
As mentioned in outer reviews, this is a nice dark royal blue and looks very nice when riding the bike. Both my son and I also have electric jacket liners, so the AST 2 with the jacket liner is a ideal combination that keeps us warm and toasty regardless of how wet and cold the ride becomes.
I fully expect years of life from each of our Olympia jackets, however, and we will be both ordering Olympia products again from Revzilla in the future.

Overall this helmet is excellent and lives up to the hype and reviews found on the internet. To find reasons to nitpick is but of a stretch but here they are. The big red button is installed well up and inside the chin bar. There is very little room for the fingers of a large XL gloved hand to fit between my chin and the red button to unlatch the chin bar. However the more I played with it, the easier it was to operate. Closing the chin bar is simply performed by hooking a gloved finger on the chin vent tab and bringing down the chin bar which locks up nicely without any issues. The helmet has a nice curve along the sides, so installing my Sena SMH10 took some work to make it look a nice as possible. I also ordered the SMH-10 clamp kit with attachable boom and wired microphone as the stock SMH-10 boom can hang up on the chin curtain. Everything was ordered though Revzilla and I had many questions before and after the purchase. Customer support is simply excellent!

This is the only FF Helmet that I truly enjoy riding with. As soon as I put one on I knew this was the helmet for me. Very comfortable and excellent visibility. Before I purchased one, I trying one on while stilling on my bike. 2010 GW. My other FF helmets and others that I tried on, limited my downward and Peripheral vision. The helmet offers excellent all around visibility.
The only negative comment I have is these helmets, when new, the inside stinks to high h#ll with the off gassing of the new materials. So either wash the removable liner upon delivery or allow the Helmet to air out for a few days before donning on a hot summer day.
